Hello All, Does anyone know how to fix Bad Block issues? A user here added a 3-4 blocks to an existing base drawing yesterday, then today the drawing wouldnt open with out a recover. The original message was 'Error Decrypting Data' which was strange, id never seen that one before. Anyhow, we recovered the drawing and it opened and fixed 4 errors.
Bad Block Launcher Minecraft
Feb 09, 2009 I have a user that has his AutoCAD Architecture 2009 in the. Updating Indexes for block $Audit_Bad_Block_Record1. Blocks reload during every save.
All Bad Block Errors. Ok great, sh.tty part is it hosed those blocks and changed their name.
So now the blocks that were named TEE and so on are named $AuditBadBlock231432531 or something similiar. And it 'fixed' (hosed) the blocks, the blocks that were tees now only show 2 of the 5 lines that made up the tee previously.
The blocks are just fine, we use them all the time and i can insert the same on into an existing drawing with no problems. My question is, how can i replace the 'hosed' blocks with new ones., without doing it manually. The rotation and scale is still correct but the symbol is broken. A find replace or a redefine would work just fine but, there is no find replace for blocks and I cant redefine the blocks cause the have that crappy name. HAs Autodesk thought of this?
Any information would be great =D Matt Whipple Consulting Engineers. Did you type rename at the command prompt Matt? There is also an Express Tool to replace blocks with blocks if you can insert the good ones again.

Situation: I have a drawing (A) that I am trying to write out as a block to insert into another drawing (B). However when I try to insert it, AutoCAD crashes.
During troubleshooting, I found that Drawing A contains an entity called $AUDITBADBLOCK. After trying to find the bad block all I could find was the mentioned text, no geometry, etc. Then I tried to get rid of it by purging, exploding all blocks, writing out entire drawing A as a block to itself, etc.
But the bad block is still in there. Does anyone have any suggestions? Your help is much appreciated.thanks! Try selecting it with quick select and deleting it. Your help is much appreciated.thanks! Superpurge is a third party app that you have to pay for. Try right clicking in the drawing area and selecting 'quick select' from the menu. Under 'Object type' select 'Block reference' under properties, select Name under value, type $AUDITBADBLOCK click OK. If the command line says anything was selected, you can now inspect what was selected and delete it.
If that doesn't work, you can WBLOCK out a layer or two at a time, or perhaps even the whole drawing, and the bad block will often disappear. 'francisc' wrote in message news:157215173253.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1. whats superpurge? I tried typing it but it does not work.
