I hope the fix is this easy. Have you thought of trying “WD 40 Specialists Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray” or similar product to clean electrical contact points. This might help if the contacts around or under the control knob or push buttons have any type of residue, visible or not like dust, dirt, condensation anything that might interfere with electronic connections. Especially if you notice any static or scratchy sounds when you’re trying to adjust the volume. It needs it if you’ll notice when trying to adjust the volume it jumps all over the place from high to low erratically. It’s just a thought. An easy fix if that’s the cause.

I have the same set of speakers and it seems to be a common problem. I've noticed that I can usually get it to work again by disconnecting the power to the unit for 5 minutes and it'll start working again. If that doesn't work, unfortunately, the control unit is proprietary. You might have some luck if you contact Creative support. Go to 'Contact Us' 'Customer Support' 'Technical Assistance' 'Speakers' and provide a description of the problem along with the model number of the unit. Answered on Jul 15, 2012.
